Today on our ‘KIDS: Farm to Table’ interview series we feature Sharon Lovejoy!
She is a talented story teller having received the National Outdoor Book Award in Children’s Literature, a Gold Award from National Parenting Publication Awards, and an iParenting Media Award among many other professional accomplishments!
Sharon has authored terrific books that encourage children to appreciate and interact creatively with nature including Roots Shoots Buckets & Boots, Sunflower Houses, and HollyHock Days. These are all great resources for engaging children in the garden and in cultivating food!
Also, she has been featured as a guest on NBC’s Today Show, PBS’ The Victory Garden, as well as numerous HGTV & Discovery Channel shows where she shares her passion for gardening, children and literature.
We are honored that Sharon took the time to speak on our ‘Lifestyle Interview Series’!
Sharon’s interest developed from the many hours she spent as a child gardening alongside her grandmother. Today, the family tradition continues as Sharon now shares that passion with her own grandchildren, which she describes in her book Camp Granny.
An expert long involved with learning gardens before the current trend, Sharon has a keen understanding of how to captivate a child’s interest in the garden while teaching valuable life skills.
